We keep the grease out of your sewers so your business can remain thriving and within government compliance. Also known as grease interceptors, grease traps are essential to running restaurants, nursing homes, rehabs, and similar businesses. While they do their work behind the scenes, it’s vital to perform proper maintenance. Neglecting your grease traps is bad for the environment and can risk shutting down your business during a government inspection.
The good news is that you don’t need to worry about clearing out your grease traps. We’ll do the work for you with minimal disruption from your daily routine, so you can continue business as usual.
Grease traps live up to their name. They catch what we in the industry call FOGS (fats, oils, grease, and solids) from entering the sewage system and causing blockages that are bad for the community and environment.
Grease interceptors are boxes that filter out FOGS from your wastewater. Essentially, they intercept the FOGS, so only clean water seeps out into the sewage system. Animal fats and vegetable oils are less dense than water, so they float above. Solids sink below. So, grease interceptors allow the wastewater to cool down and separate naturally. They then release the FOGS through outlets and removable strainers. Naturally, over time, the grease build-up accumulates to a point where it needs professional cleaning—and that’s where we step in.
Manual grease interceptors are economical and easily installed but require higher maintenance as they need to be manually cleaned frequently. Alternatively, automatic grease traps conveniently transfer FOGS into collector bins, so you don’t have to do the dirty work yourself or regularly check grease levels. However, automatic grease traps need some TLC too, as they still collect a certain amount of grease over time.
